Luca Ledda in Brazil

Italian artist Luca Ledda just finished working on his two new murals created for a project called “Latinta Mural”, which is an art residency developed inside the favelas of ”Serra Dourada” and “Inhanguetà” in the city of Vitoria, Espirito Santo, Brazil.

Luca stated that the goal of the project is to involve the people of the district to approach art in a different way. “Both of this favelas gave me the inspiration to create a wall project, first mural theme is ‘Sleepy city’ and the second one is ‘Power of the nature’.”

Who Is Alexandre Keto ?

Alexandre Keto is a street artist born in Sao Paulo. He started off by doing graffiti since he was influenced by the Hip Hop movement, but with a growing sense of social awareness, he realized that his art wasn’t reflective of his surroundings.
“It did not take long though, until I felt the need to create drawings that resembled the people living in my neighbourhood (black-skinned people), since they were not being appreciated or represented in any other way.”

He says that when people saw him painting in the streets, they often stopped to have a chat and even thanked him – and that makes him happy.
“[…] I started to understand more about the peoples’ feelings, desires, problems and interests. Becoming aware of this was decisive for the development of my work.
It woke an ambition in me that went far beyond the aim to exhibit my works and to create pieces of art that please critics.
It is much more than that: I desire to transform the peoples’ realities that make part of my own reality through artistic interventions and to create a society.”

The Scarcity Of Water

New collaborative piece by the twin brothers Os Gemeos and JR in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Os Gemeos wrote a comment to explain the meaning behind this mural:

“[…] the scarcity of water is the reflex of what man and the bad administration of our politics are doing for years! It is the answer from nature to the neglect and disrespect from the deforestation and the pollution of our rivers, lakes and seas. We are all paying the price of filthy politics.”

Brazilian street artist Eduardo Kobra has delivered a new wall in São Paulo, Brazil. The wall, entitled as “Genial is riding a bike”,  is 13 meters high by 7 meters large and the painting shows Albert Einstein riding a bicycle. On the front of the bicycle Kobra has inserted his own version of the famous Einstein formula (E=MC2) which could be translated as: Love= Me + you2.
