Photos I took while walking down the streets of Prague, Czech Republic in January 2016.

“Sneakers speak louder than words” – in front of the Foot Shop near Vltavská.

This photo was taken in Karlovy Vary on New Year’s Eve.

Sadly, my country has not much good street art to offer – there is mostly lots of simple graffiti and tags.

Sculptures in Vítkov, Prague.

Thank you for visiting Street Art Rat!

Very amusing, the sneaker slogan — also that it is in English — but I am most moved by the photo of Karlovy Vary at new year’s. Long ago, I was in Karlovy Vary, too complicated a story to tell, but it revolved around attending a music concert by the group The Plastic People of the Universe … I remember walking past a long-closed shoe shop that still bore the name of Bata — and I knew the name, because the Batas came to Canada and developed a worldwide shoe business from here. Toronto is also home to the Bata Shoe Museum… Thank you for the memories

Thank you for sharing, Penny! I hope that you enjoyed your stay in Karlovy Vary back then and that you have nice memories of the Czech Republic 🙂 Baťa is still a quite popular shoe shop in our country and it is reopened on the main street in Karlovy Vary (I also shop there from time to time in one of the Bata shops in Prague). It is great to read such stories, thank you for that 🙂

I remember of course the beauty of the old architecture, but it was a tense moment in political history. If you know about the band Plastic People of the Universe still in the Czechoslovaka era, then you have the context.

I have heard about the band and after some research I understand that it must have been quite an adventure. Have a nice day and thanks for your comments 🙂

Prague has some fantastic architecture. I have only seen it in photos–but WOW!

I am glad you like it! I tend to not appreciate the beauty of Prague’s architecture enough – because I was born here and I have always lived here. Thank you for reminding me 🙂
